Writer's Block?
WRITER'S BLOCK
That must be it - the reason why I just can't seem to get a new journal entry made lately - writer's block.
Life has been like a hot, humid, rainy, treadmill lately here, and I'm looking forward to the Fall just to be rid of all this heat and mugginess. Thankfully, the two air-conditioners we have here have been running non-stop for weeks now, and I hate to think what the electric bill is going to look like, but they have kept me sane while I've been working at home.
As for our kitchen renovation project, with both of us working all day, every day, there is very little time to accomplish what we need to get done, before the cabinets are installed, however, yesterday, Paul put the final coat of paint onto the walls.
The next step is to call the carpenter, Steve, and make a date for him to install those nice new cabinets that have been languishing in boxes in the basement since July 2nd!
When that is done, then the plumber needs to come in to re-route the water pipes under the sink, and the electrician must enter into the picture somewhere in that time frame to finalize the lighting, etc...and we have to go to Lowe's and order the countertops - we decided on a solid surface material that is a blue/green with white and black speckles in it.
Being without a working sink in the kitchen is going to be the tricky part. Up until now, we have had the sink and dishwasher still working in there. Paul has been lugging the stove and refrigerator out each time he has to work on the walls behind them, and so far I've been able to cook right along in the shell of a kitchen. But without a sink, things are going to take a turn for the complicated... and I'm just hoping that will go smoothly and no linger for days or weeks.
It's off to work for me now.
