Progress Report
PROGRESS REPORT
Our kitchen renovation project has started to move along again.
The cabinets were shipped and arrived here yesterday, and are all in nice neat boxes in our basement, awaiting Steve the carpenter's installation. But first, Paul has to do some sheetrock work on the walls.
Whitby is my ever-present kitchen helper. Look how open the little kitchen looks now that we've moved the stove out from the middle of the room - over to the exterior wall. There will be a row of cabinets and countertop along both walls, with the open stretch down the middle.
The ceiling lights were installed yesterday, and the electrician got his wiring all done for the various outlets, and under-counter lighting. We are trying very hard to keep it "neat and clean" in there, and I am still preparing home-cooked dinners for us, but when the sink gets removed, I think it'll be the sub-shop up the street for us!
We haven't unpacked the cabinets yet, but I did unpack the one mullion door just to see how it came out! The finish is called Chocolate Glaze, and it's cherry wood.
I have much work to get done today, so this will have to be all for now.
I hope you all, here in America, have a safe and happy Fourth of July holiday weekend. Keep away from fireworks, if possible, please.
